SUMMARY:SWTrails Monthly Hike Saturday\, October 12
DESCRIPTION:Walk to the Willamette with SW Trails on October 12th on our regular 2nd Saturday hike. Dave Manville will lead this 6 mile hike starting at the Wilson High School bleachers and heading east through Burlingame and into George Himes park on SW Trail #3\, and then through the park to South Portland and the Willamette trail. We will pass through Willamette Park\,  then head back via the steps on SW Trail 4 and Burlingame Park\, cross the Freeway on SW 19th and SW Trail #6 and head North via the Raz-Baack crossing and end back where we began at Wilson. This trail will have about 875 ft of elevation change. \nWe will meet behind the bleachers at Wilson High School (SW Sunset Blvd. and Capitol Highway) and be ready to go by 9:00 am. Bring a snack\, water\, good footwear\, sunglasses and dress for the weather.  Well-behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash.  For health reasons\, there is no smoking on SWTrails walks. \nNote: there will be a restroom break at Willamette Park\, and the possibility of shortening the hike if weather impinges or by popular demand.
