SUMMARY:3rd Saturday Walk July 17 @9am
DESCRIPTION:Meet at the back side of Ida Wells High School (formerly Wilson HS) a few minutes before 9am.  Our walk today follows part of SWTrails #6 that leads us through a neighborhood where houses are nestled among some of Portland’s natural forest area\, through the west side of Marquam Natural Area\, and up to a lovely view of downtown Portland before returning back to where we started. From the school we will walk up SW Sunset to SW DeWitt to walk past the park there. Then we’ll go up SW Cheltenham which turns into SW Westwood\, then turn onto SW Northwoods.  We’ll walk through the east side of the Marquam Nature Park up to a vista viewpoint of downtown Portland.  We’ll then head back the way we came\, turning onto SW Westwood Ct.\, then SW Martha St\, to SW 18th\, and finally onto SW Sunset to arrive back at the school.  The walk is 2.4 miles long with an elevation change of 285 ft.\n
