DESCRIPTION:Start Time:  9am (please arrive around 8:45 so we can start on time)\nStart Location: Parking area behind the Hillsdale Food Trucks\nName:   George Himes Park Loop\nNeighborhood: Hillsdale\nDistance: 2.3 Miles\nElevation Change: 122 ft.  \n \n Come on out and join SW Trails on Saturday October 16 at 9am\, for its monthly 3rd Saturday Walk. The 3rd Saturday Walk is designed to offer a walking opportunity that is shorter than our traditional hike and ends with a stop for coffee and socializing if you desire.   \n  We will be heading to George Himes Park to walk down its paths through the park; then we will walk up Terwilliger\, cross Capitol Hwy\, and continue on until we reach SW Cheltenham. We will then walk up Cheltenham\, which will lead us back to SW Sunset to complete the loop.  Walking poles might be needed while walking through Himes Park.  \n Because COVID infection numbers are still high\, we would like our walkers to be vaccinated\, and comply with current State recommendations to maintain a 6-foot distance between other walkers who are not part of your family or personal pod. Be prepared to mask up for our beginning group talk and if the 6-foot distance is impossible while walking.    \nBring a snack\, water\, good footwear\, sunglasses and dress for the weather. Note that smoking on our walks is not permitted for health reasons. Kids and well-behaved pets are welcome.  \n Hope to see you there.   \n  \n
