DESCRIPTION:SWTrails 2nd Saturday Hike\, August 9th\, 9am to Noon. Barber PR to Burlingame Wander \nMeet at the Barbur Park and Ride back by the Pedestrian Bridge \nName: Barbur Park and Ride to Burlingame 5 parks wander\nLeader: Dave Manville\nStart Location: Meet at the Barbur Park and Ride back by the Pedestrian Bridge\nStart Time:  9 am (arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can start promptly at 9am)\nDistance: 6.4 miles\nElevation Change:  900 ft.\nPace:  2.5 mph avg (our faster paced hike) \nBus Service: This is a Tri-Met Park and Ride there are many buses serving this location \nHi Hikers\, this month our hike is led by Dave Manville on a route leaving from the Barbur Blvd Park and Ride in the back by the pedestrian overpass\, 9712 SW Barbur Blvd\, Portland\, OR 97219. We will hike over to Foley Balmer cross Tryon Creek and walk the Frey Trail in Marshall Park\, then head over to SWTrail #4 and the 1 yr old new no steps route to the Terwilliger Blvd overpass and back via A-Park and Spring Garden Park. \nSWTrails still needs hike leaders\, hike ideas\, and a Hike Coordinator so let us know if you have a favorite hike we could do\, or if you have the volunteer spirit and would like to organize these hikes. It is a fun and rewarding adventure. \nJoin us! and remember this is our longer and faster paced 2.5 mph average speed hike with usually more than 6-mile distance and some moderate elevation change. \nBring a snack\, water\, good footwear\, and dress appropriately for the weather (raingear? gloves? sunglasses? sunscreen? many layers?). Note that smoking on our hikes and walks is not permitted for health reasons. Kids are welcome and well-behaved pets on leash are welcome also.
