DESCRIPTION:Name:  Hike to the Willamette River\nLeader:  Suzie Blount and Dave Manville\nStart Location: Ida B Wells HS by the Food Carts 6238 SW Capitol Hwy\nStart Time:  9 am (8:45am meet time so we can start promptly at 9am)\nEnd Time:  12pm\nDistance:  6.75 miles\nElevation Change:  1\,000 ft\nAverage Pace:  2.5 mph\nParticipation Requirements:  Fully vaccinated (including Booster)\, have masks as you prefer\nBus Information:  TriMet stop 929 and 955 serve this location \nThis is our monthly 2nd Saturday hike so a bit faster pace 2.5mph and 6.75 miles and 1\,000 ft of elevation gain. We park and start from Ida B Wells HS off Hillsdale Hwy by the food carts at 8:45 – 9:00AM. TriMet serves that area with several buses. We will walk down through George Himes Park to the River and along the river walk for a few miles to near the base of the Tram\, then return up a different route on Slavin Rd\, Buhler cut-off trail and back to our start at Ida B Wells HS \nBring a snack\, water\, good footwear\, sunglasses\, and rain gear as appropriate. Dress and prepare for the weather on hike day. Children and well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome. For health reasons\, there is no smoking on SWTrails walks and hikes. If you need to leave the hike early let a hike leader know. We try to find a restroom along the way\, but it’s not always possible to do so. \nLooking forward to seeing you there with us.\nSuzie Blount

Corbett and Curry St. where the café is. \n\nIs walking the Tilikum Bridge on your bucket list? Start out the year right and come join SWTrails as we traverse one of Portland’s newest bridges. Better yet\, join us at 8am and have a lovely pre-walk breakfast at the Ross Island Café.  We will walk to the Tilikum Bridge from the café\, cross the river and walk along the east shore of the Willamette River before returning to the café. \nBring water and snacks and dress appropriately for the January weather.
