DESCRIPTION:October 5th\, 2023: Stephens Creek Natural Area – Replace Steps and re-armor trail. \n  \nPlease join SWTrails in our 10th season of working with Portland Parks to improve trails in the SW Parks. These work parties are designed to support a wide range of worker capabilities and build community in our Neighborhoods. We welcome all and all abilities. So\, give some thought to joining us or just stop by and say hi. \nIf you plan to join in the fun\, contact Dave Manville\, or text 503-753-8186 with your name\, but it is OK to just show up (we’ll take all the help we can get!). Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to the work party (8:45 am) to sign in.  We always start with a safety and tools talk to describe and demonstrate the work ahead. \nAs always\, our work is guided by the Portland Parks Lands Stewardship folks. Parks will bring all the tools\, gloves\, and materials we need\, and also\, coffee\, snacks and water. On these work parties it is not necessary to stay for the whole event and you can work at whatever level your skill and energy allows. October 21\, 2023\nStart Time:  9am (arrive at 8:45 so we can leave by 9am)\nName:  Gabriel Park to April Hill Nature Park and Back\nStart Location:  Little Gabriel Park on SW Canby\nNeighborhood:  Hillsdale\, Multnomah\, and Maplewood Neighborhoods\nDistance:  3.5 mi.\nPace:  2 mph\nElevation Change:  360 ft.\nBus Information:  Check with Metro for current bus information\nSpecial Notes:  There are some dirt paths with roots and gravel \nWe welcome this first-time partnership with PBOT on our 3rd Saturday walk on October 21\, 2023.  Dave and Deb will lead this hike as we start at Little Gabriel Park and wend our way through three neighborhoods to April Hill Nature Park and back to where we started. \nAs always\, well behaved dogs on leash and children are welcome.  Note that smoking on our walks is not permitted for health reasons.  Please be prepared: dress for the weather\, bring water and a snack if you like.
