SUMMARY:Help spread gravel along the HI ►LO Trail
DESCRIPTION:GRAVELFEST\nSaturday March 2nd 2024 starting at 9AM.  Meet at 1940 SW Canby St. along the approx. 10 block route of the Hillsdale to Lake Oswego ( HLO) trail along SW 19th. You can park with street side parking on SW Canby\, SW Custer\, SW Miles. Our gravel festival work will be about making disappear about 10 yards of gravel in 2 piles along the trail. This will involve some grubbing out for the gravel and mixing it in with some dirt\, graveling behind steps\, tamping\, hauling\, likely a couple of grade reversal drains to invent along the way. \n  \nWe need about 2 more wheelbarrows\, a few yard rakes\, hoes\, shovels\, tampers\, and this is a SWTrails work party not Portland Parks so bring your own gloves\, water\, and dress for trail work. DESCRIPTION:March 7th\, 2024: Marshall Park\, Frey Trail tune-up* \n  \nPlease join SWTrails in our 10th season of working with Portland Parks to improve trails in the SW Parks. These work parties are designed to support a wide range of worker capabilities and build community in our Neighborhoods. We welcome all and all abilities. So\, give some thought to joining us or just stop by and say hi. \nIf you plan to join in the fun\, contact Dave Manville\, or text 503-753-8186 with your name\, but it is OK to just show up (we’ll take all the help we can get!). Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to the work party (8:45 am) to sign in.  We always start with a safety and tools talk to describe and demonstrate the work ahead. \nAs always\, our work is guided by the Portland Parks Lands Stewardship folks. Parks will bring all the tools\, gloves\, and materials we need\, and also\, coffee\, snacks and water. On these work parties it is not necessary to stay for the whole event and you can work at whatever level your skill and energy allows. Wells High School.  We will walk to Terwilliger and then up to the Eagle Point Overlook. SWTrails founder Don Baack will update us on the HiLo trail construction progress and other SWTrails goings-on. \nBring a snack\, water\, good footwear\, and dress appropriately for the weather (raingear? sunglasses?). Note that smoking on our walks is not permitted for health reasons. Kids and well-behaved pets on leash are welcome. Restrooms are at times hard to come by but we will try and find one along the way.\nHope to see you there.
