DESCRIPTION:SWTrails 2nd Saturday Hike\, June 14th\, 9am to Noon. Wells High School to Council Crest \nMeet at Ida B Well HS Parking by the Food Carts\n \nName: Well HS to Council Crest Summit Loop return\nLeader: Andy Fortier\nStart Location: Well High School by the Food Carts\nStart Time:  9 am (arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can start promptly at 9am)\nDistance: 6.0 miles\nElevation Change:  900 ft.\nPace:  2.5 mph avg (our faster paced hike) \nBus Service: Tri Met 955 and 929 are out on BH Hwy 1 block away \nHi Hikers\, this month our hike is led by Andy Fortier on a route leaving from Wells HS near the Food Carts and Hiking on SWTrail #6 and other streets up to Council Crest Summit. The return will be down SW 18th and Nicoli Woods route to Sunset and back. This hike will have a bit more vertical 900ft than usual so gauge your conditioning before you so this one. \nSWTrails still needs hike leaders\, hike ideas\, and a Hike Coordinator so let us know if you have a favorite hike we could do\, or if you have the volunteer spirit and would like to organize these hikes. It is a fun and rewarding adventure. \nJoin us! and remember this is our longer and faster paced 2.5 mph average speed hike with usually more than 6-mile distance and some moderate elevation change. \nBring a snack\, water\, good footwear\, and dress appropriately for the weather (raingear? gloves? sunglasses? sunscreen? many layers?). Note that smoking on our hikes and walks is not permitted for health reasons. Kids are welcome and well-behaved pets on leash are welcome also. DESCRIPTION:SWTrails 3rd Saturday Walk June 21\, 2025\nMeet at Riverdale High School\n9727 SW Terwilliger Blvd\, Portland\, OR 97219\nName:  Riverdale HS Marshall/Burlingame Parks Loop\nLeader: Tyler Weber\nStart Location: Riverdale HS Parking Lot \nStart Time: 9 am (arrive 10-15 min. early so we can start promptly at 9am)\nDistance:  3.8 Mi.\nElevation Change:  273 ft.\nAverage Pace:  2 mph\nBus Information:  Lines 35\, 38\, and 39 stop at Riverdale HS.  Due to schedule changes\, check Tri Met for bus information\nSpecial Notes:  Rain is predicted. May be some mud walking through the parks.  Bring walking sticks if you want. \nWe will meet in the Riverdale HS parking lot.  Please arrive by 8:45am to start at 9:00am. \nWe will be walking along portions of Trails 4\, 5\, 6\, and our brand new Hi-Lo (Hilsdale to Lake Oswego) Trail on this walk.  We will head to Marshall Park from the school\, walk through Marshall Park \, head up 19th to walk through Burlingame Park\, zig-zag our way up to Canby then loop around back to the high school. \nAs it may be raining\, mud-worthy shoes as well as hiking sticks are recommended for those who usually need them.   It is expected to be wet so be prepared. \nBring water and snacks and dress appropriately for the weather. Kids and well-behaved pets on leash are welcome\, but no smoking for the health and consideration of others.\nHope to see you there.
