DESCRIPTION:SWTrails 2nd Saturday Hike\, October 11th\, 9am to Noon. Self Led Hike #14 Lesser Park – Loll Wildwood Wander\nMeet at Barbur Transit Center in the back\n \nName: Self Led Hike #14 to Lesser Park – PCC Sylvania – Arnold Creek – Loll Wildwood and more wander\nLeader: Ben and Sue Donora\nStart Location: Meet at Barbur Transit Center in the back\, 9660 SW Barbur Blvd\, Portland\, OR 97219\nStart Time:  9 am (arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can start promptly at 9am)\nDistance: 6.7 miles\nElevation Change:  930 ft.\nPace:  2.5 mph avg (our faster paced hike) \nBus Service: Barbur Transit Center is served by quite a few buses\, 12\, 43\, 44\, are good choices in our area. \nHi Hikers\, this month our 2nd Saturday hike on Oct 11th is led by Sue and Ben Donora on a route leaving from Barbur Transit Center\, meet us in the back by the pedestrian bridge. We will hike out on the route of Self Led Hike #14 to a variety of Parks to the South including PCC campus\, Lesser Park and loop around to Loll Wildwood and more on our return. The fall colors are starting to show and we should see some nice reds and yellows in the trees as we hike. \nSWTrails still needs hike leaders\, hike ideas\, and a Hike Coordinator so let us know if you have a favorite hike we could do\, or if you have the volunteer spirit and would like to organize these hikes. It is a fun and rewarding adventure. \nJoin us! and remember this is our longer and faster paced 2.5 mph average speed hike with usually more than 6-mile distance and some moderate elevation change. \nBring a snack\, water\, good footwear\, and dress appropriately for the weather (raingear? gloves? sunglasses? sunscreen? many layers?). Note that smoking on our hikes and walks is not permitted for health reasons. Kids are welcome and well-behaved pets on leash are welcome also. DESCRIPTION:SWTrails 3rd Saturday Walk October 18\, 2025 \nMeet at Hillsdale Food Carts in Wells HS Parking Lot\n \nName:  Backside of Marquam Loop\nLeader: Deb Small\nStart Location:  IB Wells Parking Lot Near the Food Carts\nStart Time: 9 am (arrive 10-15 min. early so we can start promptly at 9am)\nDistance:  3.3 Mi.\nElevation Change:  391 ft.\nAverage Pace:  2 mph\nBus Information:  Many routes stop at Sunset and Capital Hwy.  Due to schedule changes\, check Tri Met for bus information\nSpecial Notes:  Although there are some areas that are a little steep\, the rest of the walk is typical steepness for the 3rd Saturday walk.\nWe will meet in the IB Wells HS parking lot near the food carts at Sunset and Capital Hwy.  Please arrive by 8:45am to start at 9:00am. \nWe’ll then head uphill\, walking through neighborhoods until we reach a lovely lookout of the city before looping back to where we started. \nBring water and snacks and dress appropriately for the weather.
