Lee Buhler will lead this up-and-back walk starting at Ida B. Wells High School. We will walk to Terwilliger and then up to the Elk Point Overlook. SWTrails Board member Laura Campos will give a talk about the totem pole installed in 1959. We will then walk along Terwilliger to Hamilton St. where SW Trails Board President, Doug Rogers will talk about the rail line that went up Hamilton and along Terwilliger in the 1890s. We will have our coffee at the little park at Terwilliger and Hamilton, and then head back to the high school.
As always, well behaved dogs on leash and children are welcome. Note that smoking on our walks is not permitted for health reasons. Please be prepared: dress for the weather, bring water and a snack if you like. We hope to see you there.
