SWIM & MORE is a committee of SWTrails created to provide advocacy for Transportation needs of SW Portland.
The City of Portland adopted a Southwest In Motion (or SWIM) plan in 2019. The plan included a large number of relatively low-cost pedestrian and bicycle improvements for streets and paths in southwest Portland. The plan did not set priorities for projects. Portlad Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) has provided miserly annual funding to other city In Motion plans to accomplish those projects. It is our opnion that PBOT has unilaterally decided what projects should be consructed with no input from southwest residents.
The SWIM & More committee will:
–Review progress on completed SWIM projects
–Review progress on SWIM projects underway
–Propose projects to be considered for future funding
–Advocate for increased funding for future SWIM projects
Meeting notices, minutes and other committee information will occasionally be posted here.
