Can SW Portland Go Platinum?

Earlier in 2008 the League of American Bicyclists awarded Portland, Oregon platinum status as a bicycle friendly community. Certainly there have many bike improvements in other parts of Portland and the rest of Portland is a bike friendly town. But SW Portland has not had many bike improvements and there is a lot of work to be done. SWTrails has been working on a plan for bike improvements. The plan is titled “BICYCLE FACILITIES STRATEGY to Reach Platinum Status in SOUTHWEST PORTLAND” and it will be submitted to the Portland Office of Transportation in November 2008. We have been working on the plan for about two years and have received input from many people.
