During the COVID shut-down SWTrails developed a series of self-led hikes for you since we couldn’t walk as a group.
Good news! We are again hiking and walking on the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of each month. I hope you can join us. You can find more details on our home page by either clicking on the “Events” tab, or on the walks listed in the “Walks” section in the right-hand column.
More good news! Our self-led hikes aren’t going away. You can still explore your neighborhood on your own. Studies show that brief outdoor walks benefit people at all phases of human life. Current research is exploring dosage and even planning principles for exposure to nature that can enhance health. Now that we’re out of quarantine, you can still get outside and get moving instead of binge watching your favorite shows!
To support your efforts to get outdoors, SWTrails PDX has published routes so you can still enjoy a hike without the group. All you need is a good pair of walking shoes and smartphone with the “Explorer for ArcGIS” application installed. Instructions to download the smart phone app can be found here. You can also get information about these routes by visiting our Facebook Page. All the routes are scenic and safe, so get out there and start walking!
Also, please consider making a donation to support our all-volunteer staff. See our Donate Page for more information.
