Update on Sidewalk and Extended Shoulders Projects

Below, you’ll find a brief status update on each of the SW Portland sidewalk and Extended Shoulder projects sent to us by Dan Layton of PBOT. SW 11^th Ave: Gaines – GibbsAndrew Aebi, Project Manager, 503-823-5648 Council approved change order on 6/19/13 to finish SW 11th Avenue from SW Gibbs Street to SW Gaines Street. Construction began on 7/01/13. Revised contractual completion date is 8/06/13.

SW Multnomah: 22^nd – 40^th AveRichard Newlands, Project Manager, 503-823-7780 Design engineering of the SW Multnomah Bike-Ped Project was recently completed after it was combined with the Bureau of Environmental Services SW Multnomah 35th – 40th Stormwater Management Project. The combined project is anticipated to go to bid in the middle of July ’13 with construction anticipated to begin in the fall of ’13. SW Illinois-Vermont: Project went to Purchasing for bid/advertise on 6-28-13. The project is       expected to Bid in mid July.

SW Huber St: 37^th – 43^rd AveChris Armes, Project Manager, 503-823-7051     The pre-construction conference has not yet been scheduled.

SW Sunset: DeWitt – 18^th DrChris Armes, Project Manager, 503-823-7051 The contractor R&R General Contractors started work on June 24^th. Construction started on SW 18^th Drive and SW Sunset and is moving toward SW DeWitt. This is a 90-day contract with substantial completion scheduled for September 21^st. There have been some questions from the residents about the landscape and landscape removal but all issues are resolved to date. The contractor has sent a general notification to all households along the street. As driveway work is scheduled, another notice is required so that residents know when their driveway will be removed and reconstructed.

SW Spring Garden / 19^th / 22^nd Ave Chris Armes, Project Manager, 503-823-7051 The pre-construction conference is scheduled for July 15^th and work is anticipated to start August 1^st. The contractor, Brown Contracting, is required to send all households advance notification of work.

Maplewood Road Extended Shoulders Kyle Chisek, Project Manager, 503-823-7041 (Added by Don Baack) The construction is largely done, some striping remains and another look at the width of the speed bumps is being done.
