General Project Information

This project will replace the bridge over Fanno Creek with a new bridge built above the creek’s flood level. Additional improvements include sidewalks, bike lanes, landscaping, street lighting, and storm and drainage facilities.

Project Design Update

Since the November 2012 project open house, the Project Team has continued finalizing the design for the bridge replacement project. No significant changes have been made to the design since the open house. This project is anticipated to go to bid in April 2014. After the project is awarded to the contractor, the project team will hold a “Meet the Contractor” open house. The public will be invited to stop by the open house to view the final design and construction schedule. In late January, a separate early contractor will remove trees and shrubs within public easements in preparation for the primary construction work. There may be short term traffic delays during this work. Expect intermittent lane closures during preliminary vegetation removal work, which is scheduled to occur 1/28/14 – 2/28/14.

Road Closure Information

In order to replace the bridge, Oleson Road will need to be closed to vehicle traffic at Fanno Creek for approximately eight months. A temporary pedestrian bridge will be installed during the closure allowing access for walkers and bicyclists during the closure. It is anticipated that the closure will begin in July 2014. Once the contractor is selected for this project, exact dates will be determined and the public will be notified.

Detour and Access to properties

Hall Boulevard – Scholls Ferry Road. Detour signs will be installed. Access to all properties within the closure will be available at all times. There may be times where driveways are partially restricted; however, alternate access will be provided to ensure full access is available.
