SATURDAY, MAY 10 at 9:00 am
The May 10th walk will be led by Virginia Hendrickson and will take us through the neighborhoods of West Portland Park and Far Southwest. We
will carpool to Barbur Transit Center to begin our hike. We will hike through the West Portland Park Natural Area, to Nansen Summit in
Mountain Park, and then down to Sylvania PCC campus and Lesser Park.
On our way back to the Barbur Transit Center we will hike through SNAP
(Sylvania Natural Area Park) and the Holly Farm Park. The hike will be about six miles with an elevation gain of approximately 300 feet. The
trails in the Natural Areas may be muddy.
Meet behind the bleachers at Wilson High School (Sunset Blvd. and Capital Highway) at 8:45 for a 9:00 am carpool departure to Barbur Transit Center. Bring a snack and water and dress for the weather. Well behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SW Trails hikes. For more information contact Virginia Hendrickson (vehendric@comcast.net).
