The January 10 walk will be led by Sharon Fekety. Starting at 9am we will walk down the Iowa St. Trail to the Willamette River and the South Waterfront neighborhood area, viewing the new OHSU Dental School and Collaborative Life Sciences Buildings, progress on the River path, new restaurants and ongoing construction. Then we will ascend the Gibbs St. Bridge by stairs or elevator up to Lair Hill Park and Dunaway Park. Then up to Terwilliger Parkway, right on Cheltenham, past De Witt Park and back to Wilson High School. The walk will be about 6.5 miles with 600 feet elevation gain.
Meet behind the bleachers at Wilson High School (Sunset Blvd. and Capitol Highway) and be ready to go at 9:00 am. Bring a snack and water and dress for the weather. Well behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SW Trails walks. For more information or to volunteer to lead a future walk, contact Sharon Fekety at fekety@hevanet.com.
