SW Trails and Portland Parks and Recreation will have our regular 1st Thursday work party for November in Maricara Natural Area out by Jackson Middle school in SW Portland. This month we will be sweeping leaves from the trail and doing some trail armoring to keep this trail in shape for the winter. We will meet at the West entrance to the park at SW 30th and Maricara st. see map link below.

We will meet at 9AM and Work til Noon (Thursday Nov 5th). Gloves and tools are provided by Parks, wear work cloths and bring some rain protection. We would love to have you join us and help keep this park in good shape for winter walking and hiking.
Last month during the Parke a Diem event SW Trails worked with PPR and did a new re-routing of the trail at the West end of the Foley-Balmer Natural Area the improvements make walking far less steep and slippery that the previous route. If you get a chance walk on over and give it a walk. Also this months Nov 14th Walk with go through that area if you want to join us.
