The July walk will be led by Lee Buhler. We will meet at Wilson High School and carpool to the boat ramp parking area at Willamette Park. The walk will be a reverse loop over the Sellwood Bridge, along the bike/ped trail on the east side of the Willamette, crossing the Tillicum Bridge and returning to the park through South Waterfront and Johns Landing on the trail. The walk is 7.5 miles with 220 feet elevation gain on the Tillicum Bridge. And you can turn around at any time if the total walk is too long.
Meet behind the bleachers, near the food carts, at Wilson High School (SW Sunset Blvd. and SW Capitol Highway) and be ready to go at 9:00 am. Well behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SW Trails walks.
There is a charge to park at Willamette Park but if we carpool it will only be about $1.00 per person. If you live near the park, you can meet us there at about 9:15 am. There are restrooms at the park and along the walk.
