SW Trails monthly first Thursday Work Party for April 5th 2018 will be at Woods Park in the Ashcreek and Crestwood Neighborhood from 9AM until Noon. We will meet on the Woods Parkway at the top of Stairway trail inside the park and will be doing a variety of projects on the trails in several locations. Tread work, hinge cutting, gravel hauling, drainpipe removal are all in the offing. The weather shows mid-50s for temps and some rain. As a bonus the Trillium’s are peeking out in scattered places throughout the park for our viewing pleasure. So come on out and join us as we do some good work on this great little park. Remember every first Thursday of the month now through December SW Trails is in a Park somewhere working on a trail, join us or stop by and say hi.
As always our work is guided by the Portland Parks Lands Stewardship folks. and Parks will bring all the tools, gloves, and materials we need, and also, coffee, snacks, water, and usually some fruit. On these work parties it is not necessary to stay for the whole event and you can work at whatever level your skill and energy allows. It is just great to meet the neighbors and get a little trail work in.

The driving approach is from SW 45th / 48th. From Taylors Ferry Rd at the stop light at SW 48th head down the hill a couple of blocks to the Woods Parkway entrance. Note that the Woods Park sign was knocked out in the snow a year ago but the entrance is just past a little path and bridge. From Multnomah Blvd at SW 45th just head up 45th to the South and enter and park on the Parkway.
Attire should be sturdy shoes, work cloths, and Spring layers. Also toss in some rain gear just in case. We look forward to seeing you out on this work party.
