The January walk will be led by Sharon Fekety. We will start at Wilson High School, cross Capitol Highway turn right past the library and turn onto Cheltenham. Then left on Terwilliger, right on the Buhler Cut Off Trail, and cross Barbur Blvd. turning right on Hamilton St. Then left until we reach the Gibbs St. Bridge which we will cross to access the stairs or elevator down to South Waterfront. (restrooms at OHSU) Then we’ll go right on River Parkway and get on the Willamette River Trail which we’ll take to Pendleton St. After crossing Macadam Ave. we’ll make our way up the Iowa St. Trail, cross Terwilliger and take Burlingame Terrace back to Wilson High School.
The walk is 6 miles with about 600 feet elevation gain. Dress for unpredictable winter weather.
Meet behind the bleachers, near the food carts, at Wilson High School, (SW Sunset Blvd. and Capitol Highway) and be ready to go at 9:00 am. Well behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SWTrails walks.
