Portland Parks has closed a section of the 4T Trail from the Highway 26 ramp to Patton Street due to a substantial slide. Jill VanWinkle, Trails Coordinator, reports that it’s a nasty slide and one that’s not easily fixed as the area is “super unstable.” ODOT has sent out soil and construction experts to assess the area. Further meetings between ODOT and Parks are scheduled to develop a plan of action to fix the trail.
Please plan to enjoy many of the other hiking opportunities in Portland for now, and honor the Trail Closure signs. The trail is very dangerous and may be out of service for up to three months.
