Come on out and join SW Trails on Saturday, May 14th at 9am, for its monthly 2nd Saturday hike. Ben Donora will be leading this hike. Our second Saturday hikes are geared to move at about 2.5 miles per hour and the will last about 2 hours.

This hike takes you through the Markham and Marshall Park neighborhoods on as many little trails and Parks that we can find.  We pass through Quail Post trail, Foley Balmer Natural Area, Marshal Park and Maricara Park and stick to the side streets as best we can. We begin this route at the Barbur Transit Center which has ample parking and easy public transit access. This route is suitable for sturdy walkers, hikers, and runners. Strollers are not advised. With the recent rains some of the trail surface for this hike will be wet and muddy and a section at the South end of Marshall Park and through parts of Maricara has some roots to be navigated

COVID is still with us and we respect your choices. Join us with a mask or without, but respect those around you. Wearing the mask as we gather is still a great idea and be mindful as you hike with us of others who may still prefer to keep that 6 ft distance.

Bring a snack, water, good footwear, sunglasses, and dress for the weather. Note that smoking on our walks is not permitted for health reasons. Kids and well-behaved pets are welcome.
