Start Location: Meet at Barbur Transit Center in the back, 9660 SW Barbur Blvd, Portland, OR 97219
Start Time: 9 am (arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can start promptly at 9am)
Distance: 6.7 miles
Elevation Change: 930 ft.
Pace: 2.5 mph avg (our faster paced hike)
Bus Service: Barbur Transit Center is served by quite a few buses, 12, 43, 44, are good choices in our area.
Hi Hikers, this month our 2nd Saturday hike on Oct 11th is led by Sue and Ben Donora on a route leaving from Barbur Transit Center, meet us in the back by the pedestrian bridge. We will hike out on the route of Self Led Hike #14 to a variety of Parks to the South including PCC campus, Lesser Park and loop around to Loll Wildwood and more on our return. The fall colors are starting to show and we should see some nice reds and yellows in the trees as we hike.
SWTrails still needs hike leaders, hike ideas, and a Hike Coordinator so let us know if you have a favorite hike we could do, or if you have the volunteer spirit and would like to organize these hikes. It is a fun and rewarding adventure.
Join us! and remember this is our longer and faster paced 2.5 mph average speed hike with usually more than 6-mile distance and some moderate elevation change.
Bring a snack, water, good footwear, and dress appropriately for the weather (raingear? gloves? sunglasses? sunscreen? many layers?). Note that smoking on our hikes and walks is not permitted for health reasons. Kids are welcome and well-behaved pets on leash are welcome also. We always try and find restrooms along the way on these hikes, but sometimes it is several miles to find one so prepare accordingly.
