Hi Hikers, this month our hike is led by Terry Kotz on a route leaving from the Parking Lot at SW Patton Rd and SW Dosch Rd across to the West from the Chevron Station (We have permission for this event to park here so ignore the no parking signs). We will hike around Council Crest and down to OHSU and trail #1 to Duniqay Park and head back up on the Marquam Trail from the Shelter at the bottom branching off to Broadway trail the streets and sidewalks back to the top. This hike will have a bit more vertical 1,000ft than usual so gauge your conditioning before you so this one.
SWTrails still needs hike leaders, hike ideas, and a Hike Coordinator so let us know if you have a favorite hike we could do, or if you have the volunteer spirit and would like to organize these hikes. It is a fun and rewarding adventure.
Join us! and remember this is our longer and faster paced 2.5 mph average speed hike with usually more than 6-mile distance and some moderate elevation change.
Bring a snack, water, good footwear, and dress appropriately for the weather (raingear? gloves? sunglasses? sunscreen? many layers?). Note that smoking on our hikes and walks is not permitted for health reasons. Kids are welcome and well-behaved pets on leash are welcome also. We always try and find restrooms along the way on these hikes, but sometimes it is several miles to find one so prepare accordingly.
