SWTrails Meeting Next Thursday Nov 21 7pm at Watershed. Speaker will include Joan Fredrickson of the Portland Office of Sustainability and Planning. She will show us how to use the interactive model of how we might be able to change things to make Portland a different place. She will also answer questions on the progress of the Portland Comprehensive Plan.
We will also consider what park funded Trail improvements we would like to see SDC monies spent on. Bring your wish list and help sort out our priorities. Commissioner Fritz has asked for input which will have to be in by the end of the month.
Some ideas you might consider:
Red Electric Trail from east of Himes Park under and onto Barbur and thence the Slavin Road connection to the Hooley Pedestrian Bridge,
Improvements to Whitaker from Barbur to Terwilliger includeing concrete sidewalk, new steps where the existing ones are falling apart, lighting along the entire length and a new handrail along all the steps.
New Trail in Woods Park
Improved Trail from SW Woods to Terwilliger that is used by nearby residents to get to OHSU
Planning for the SW Urban Trails Through Gabriel Park and Albert Kelley Parks.
Improvements to the 4T trail from the Zoo to Patton
New Trail connecting the Marquam Trail to OHSU as presented in the OHSU plan, this will involve a new bridge and about 3/8 mile of trail.
New Trail in April Hill Park
Others that I have forgotten or not heard of. Bring your list and lets get our priorities sorted out.
