Did you know we have access to a trail on the S.W. Coronado St. public right of way? This path is a city, community and neighborhood amenity which we have the right to use and enjoy.
This trail provides pedestrian access to Tryon Creek State Park from the West side of Coronado Street.

This includes several housing developments including Woodlee Heights, Palatine Heights, Mountain Park and Arnold Woods as well as Stephenson Elementary school. The land the trail travels on is officially Coronado St. and is owned by the City of Portland. The public right of way is 50 feet wide and the length of Coronado.

Coronado St. terminates directly across the street from Tryon Creek State Park’s trail access. There are good sight lines in both directions to cross busy Boones Ferry Road here. Pedestrians trying to reach the park from the neighborhood don’t have to cross at Stephenson St. or Arnold St. and walk along busy Boones Ferry Road to access Tryon Creek State Park.

Because the trail is not officially maintained it may be muddy in the Winter.

The bureau of Transportation has a confidential phone number to report any obstruction of the Right of Way. (503) 823-7002

The above post is about a SW Portland shortcut path. For background information on this trail and the controversy  surrounding it, visit our Right of way on SW Coronado webpage.
