Labor Day weekend laboring opportunity at Smith School SAT Aug 30, SUN Aug 31, and MON Sept 1 9AM to 1PM

The Ashcreek Neighborhood Association is doing a work party at the Smith School Playfield (SW 52nd and Marigold) this coming weekend to build 900 ft of path (forward it) to anyone that might be interested. We will be working on a gravel path that completes a perimeter around Smith School.

Although it is dry now the purpose of the path is to make walking around the school doable in the wetness of Winter. We will construct a 30 in wide 3-4 inch deep trough and then fill that with street grindings delivered by Portland PDOT, and then compact those grindings to ground level so they PPS can mow over the top. Water and food and shelter and resting chairs will be provided by the neighborhood association. Bring work cloths and gloves and boots. If you’ve got it a wheel barrow and square bladed shovel or hoe would be good. Work Days are SAT Aug 30, SUN Aug 31, and MON Sept 1 from 9AM until 1PM. Come on by for any amount of time you can give us it will be appreciated.

Thanks for joining us.
