SW URBAN TRAILS WALK
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 11th, 9:00 am
Don Baack will lead the monthly walk on Saturday, Oct. 11. It will be about
4 miles with 480 feet elevation gain. We will be celebrating the reopening
of the Iowa Street Trail after being closed for 4 years because of
construction. We will meet at Wilson High School and walk down the trail
under the Barbur Bridge where we will have a short ribbon cutting ceremony,
brief speeches and time to look at the site.
The design of the trail was modified to create an additional spur trail that provides an excellent, unobstructed views of Mt. Hood. Then we will proceed down to Willamette
Park, south to trail 4, coming up the stairs on Custer to Fulton Park and
back to Wilson High School.
Bring a snack and water and dress for the weather. Well behaved, leashed,
dogs are allowed. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SW Trails
walks. Meet behind the bleachers at Wilson High School and be ready to go
at 9:00 am. (Sunset Blvd. and Capitol Highway). For more information,
