SW Trails regular monthly first Thursday Work Party with Portland Parks on March 2nd will at Dickinson City Park starting at 9AM and going until Noon
* Project: Tread reconstruction.
* Trail: Dickinson Park, SWT #5
* Meeting location: SW 55th and SW Alfred Ct.
Our meeting point will be at the corner of SW 55th Ave and SW Alfred St. As always we will be guided by Parks Lands Stewardship folks. We will be doing tread work, armoring, hinge cutting, grading, and possibly some little rock walls. And because it is winter 2017 there will always be brushwork and debris removal to accomplish. This trail has been in need of attention for some time as the leading edge has rolled off and made the walking surface a challenge. It is about 400 feet that needs the most work on the 1/4 mile route and we can use all the helpers we can get. Below is a map link to the site, and a photo. Best access is off Taylors Ferry Rd at SW 55th and then down the hill going South to the meet point at Alfred
Attire should be sturdy shoes, work cloths. Parks will bring water, coffee, tools, snacks, gloves. Wear layers as it is still Winter and any weather is possible. I am looking forward to seeing you at this work party as we try and recover from our wettest winter February ever!
