SW Urban Trails Walk
Saturday, April 15th, 9:00 am– Note that April 15 is the 3rd Saturday of the month. This is an exception – next month we will return to our the 2nd Saturday of the month schedule.
The April walk will be led by Mark Turner. We will start by car pooling to the SW 4th Avenue Entrance to Tryon Creek Park. From the trail head we will go through some of the lesser trod trails in Tryon Creek Park (4th Ave Trail, Lewis and Clark Trail, Cedar Trail, Red Fox Trail). The Red Fox Trail leads into the west side of Lake Oswego. We will skirt the north edge of Lake Oswego on city streets. From the east side of Lake Oswego we will go up the trail along SW Terwilliger and back into Tryon Creek Park on the Iron Mountain Trail. From there we will take park trails back to the parking lot on SW 4th Avenue. The walk is 6 miles with about 200 feet of elevation change. Most of the walk is on the trails in the park which may be a bit muddy in wet weather.
We’ll meet behind the bleachers, near the food carts, at Wilson High School (SW Sunset Blvd. and SW Capitol Highway) and be ready to carpool by 9:00 am. Well behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SW Trails walks.
