The Lands Stewardship group from Portland Parks and Recreation is giving a “Trail Skills Workshop” on Saturday April 8 from 9am to 3pm. This will be up at the Hoyt Arboretum. We will meet in the Visitor Center Library and then go on out onto the trail for some hands on trail skill building. This workshop will be lead by Portland Parks and Recreation Lands Stewardship Soft Surface Trails Team headed by Jill Van Winkle. People who want to volunteer for trail building work parties are encouraged to attend.

PPR-LS will be providing beverages, snacks, tools, training. As usual we will be working the better part of the day outside, so appropriate trail work cloths and boots are a good idea and lots of layers. As this is a Saturday event not our usual Thursday work party if you have been wanting to join in and get some good grounding on how to build trails and structures that last, then this is your chance. Sign up today.
