The January walk will be led by Pete Schmierbach. From Wilson High School we will walk down Burlingame Ave. to the Marquam Trail. Then turn off the Marquam trail onto Nebraska Street and down to the Waterfront trail. Then we’ll climb the stairs off Taylors Ferry Rd. to Custer St. Then we’ll use side roads to the bridge across the freeway by Safeway where we’ll take side streets to the Stevens Creek crossing and back to Wilson High School. The walk will be 5.4 miles with about 500 feet elevation gain.
We’ll meet behind the bleachers, near the food carts (porta-potty), at Wilson High School (SW Sunset Blvd. and SW Capitol Highway) and be ready to go at 9:00 am. Well behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SW Trails walks.
