The November walk will be led by Lee Buhler. We will be hiking several of the trails in the Hoyt Arboretum and seeing interesting features such as the winter garden. Every tree has a story to tell. There is also a visitor’s center with rest rooms, a nature center and research library. We will need to carpool from our meeting place to parking near the Arboretum. A fee is charged for parking in the Arboretum but free parking is available on Fairview Blvd. and other places.
The walk will be 5 to 6 miles with some up and down for an elevation gain of about 600 feet. Make sure you dress for unpredictable November weather.
We will meet behind the bleachers, near the food carts, at Wilson High School (SW Sunset Blvd. and SW Capitol Highway) and be ready to carpool at 9:00 am. Well behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. There is no smoking on SWTrails walks.
Co-sponsored by SWTrailsPDX and Hillsdale Neighborhood Association.
