Totem pole seen by walkers on the SW Trails July 11 urban hike. Totem pole is along Terwilliger Boulevard at Elk Point.
Hikers stop in Himes Park at the location of the newly rebuilt switch back. This switchback was rebuilt by a work party of SW Trails volunteers under the supervision of Portland Parks on July 2.
Terwilliger Boulevard viewpoint overlooking the Tillikum Crossing bridge. Mount Hood is hidden by clouds. The clouds gave the walkers relieve from the recent heat wave.
After crossing the Gibbs Street pedestrian bridge over the I5 freeway, the walkers descended the stairs to the base of the Portland Aerial Tram.
Portland, sometimes referred to as Stumptown, has created public art out of a stump that washed down the river.
