SW Urban Trails Walk
Saturday, Sept. 12, 8:45 am
Don Baack will lead the walk on Sept. 12. It will be the 4T, Trail, Tram, Trolley and Train with the addition of Bus. For this walk you must be signed in by 8:45 am at Wilson High School to take the bus from Hillsdale at 9:01 am. From the bus we will catch MAX at Pioneer Square to the Zoo. Then we’ll walk up the Marquam Trail to Council Crest, down the trail to OHSU, then ride free down the Portland Aerial Tram to South Waterfront, then north on the Trolley back to Pioneer Square and Bus back to Wilson High School. The loop will have 700 feet elevation gain and 1100 feet loss. There are bathrooms at the Zoo and OHSU. You will not need to buy a ticket as the Orange Line is opening that day and all TriMet will be free although there will be more traffic than usual. The loop will take 3-4 hours.
Meet behind the bleachers at Wilson High School (SW Sunset Blvd. and Capitol Highway) and be ready to go by 8:45 am. Bring a snack, water, good boots, sunglasses and dress for the weather. Just on this walk dogs are not allowed. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SWTrails walks.
