The June 9th walk will be led by Rick Kappler.
We will walk on the Fanno Creek Trail. We will start our walk by carpooling to Montclair School.
Starting at Montclair School we will go south through the Arranmore neighborhood, skirt the Oregon Episcopal School and walk through the Frank Estate neighborhood to the Garden Home Recreational Center. Next we will walk west on the Fanno Creek Trail for about 2 miles. Leaving the Fanno Creek Trail we will go north on SW Western Ave and then turn east on SW 5th Street and go through McMillian Park to SW Jamieson Road. Continuing east on Jamieson Road and SW Woodside Drive we will turn south onto SW Nicol Road, pass the Nicol Road Wetlands and finally turn east on SW Vermont and return to Montclair School.
Distance is 6 miles with about 140 feet of elevation gain. Most of the walk is on paved trails or streets.
We will meet behind the bleachers at Wilson High School (SW Sunset Blvd. and SW Capitol Highway) and be ready to carpool at 9:00 am. Well behaved dogs are allowed. They must be on leash. For health reasons, there is no smoking on SW Trails walks.
